I (Kayla Engle) first decided to be baptized about two or three years ago at camp. Since then Satan has been really attacking me. It's been an uphill battle (with 500 pounds of luggage on my back!). But I know that every second has been worth it to get me this far.
At the beginning of the school year, Gail Macomber asked me if I would like to take Bible studies with her so that I could be baptized like I decided. I was very surprised. I wasn't expecting it at all, and if I could be completely honest, I wasn't really too excited about it. I was at a point where I didn't really acknowledge God very much. This is why the studies have been such a blessing to me. If she hadn't asked me, I don't know where I would be spiritually today. I've loved spending time with her, learning all these wonderful things. She's helped me grow spiritually, and I plan to keep growing until I get where I'm going.
This is a special verse for me: "A man's heart plans his way but the Lord directs his steps" (Proverbs 16:9).
