"Teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live. Then they can train the younger women ... to be self-controlled and pure...." Titus 2:3-5 NIV.
THE MISSION
Purity Circle attempts to help young women age ten and onward find the trail that leads to godly womanhood.
In addition to their primary decision to accept Jesus as their Lord and Master, the program encourages them to make two other commitments:
• a commitment to a lifestyle of purity;
• a commitment to supporting their friends in the purity walk.
Purity Circle takes seriously the Biblical mandate, that "older women must train the younger women to ... live wisely and be pure" (Titus 2:4, 5). Instructors find a variety of situations which offer an opportunity to continue the ministry of Jesus (Luke 4:18, 19):
• Teaching for those who desire to learn
• Healing for those who are damaged emotionally
• Deliverance for those who are entrapped and abused
• Direction for those who cannot find their way
• Salvation for those who desire to accept Jesus as their Savior
Purity Circle presents purity as much more than sexual abstinence. It requires accountability in thoughts, attitudes, actions and relationships. It influences choices in music, magazines, television programs and websites. It demonstrates itself in speech, fashion and deportment.
The purity lifestyle needs continual support, and Purity Circle is the answer.
THE PROGRAM
Purity Circle is a women's ministries initiative and it teaches the young women to minister to each other.
All the principles taught are extracted from the Bible and presented practically and appropriately.
The initial five workbook sessions lead up to the Purity Pledge. Parents and other interested adults are invited to the Pledge Ceremony and are encouraged to pledge support for the young women.
After the pledge, circle members complete the workbook in six more sessions; then they elect a group leader.
Group Leaders are required to take the Purity Pledge and to complete the workbook before assuming leadership. They schedule Regular Circle Meetings, preferably once a month, for purity empowerment.
Purity Circle organizers will help to provide programming and subject matter for the follow-up meetings. It is advisable for an adult to work closely with the group leader.
There is free training available for those ready to launch the Purity Circle program.
