Anniversaries
George and Carole Knight celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 25, 2003, by an open house on Nov. 13, 2004, at the Gobles Junior Academy gym. They have been members of the Gobles (Mich.) Church for 25 years.
George Knight and Carole Evans were married Oct. 25, 1953, in Gobles by Pastor Herbert Hosford. George has been a denominational worker in Calif., Mich., and Ill., for over 25 years, retiring in 1997. Carole has been a nurse for over 30 years, retiring in 1997.
The Knight family includes Connie and Steve Hodges of Calhoun, Ga.; Denise and Bert Carrion of Bloomingdale, Mich.; Michele and Larry Seely of Gobles; Carol and Terry Joyce of Berrien Springs, Mich.; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Weddings
Connie Osborne and Greg Bossert were married Oct. 24, 2004, in Warren, Mich. The ceremony was performed by Pastor Bill Bossert.
Connie is the daughter of Ken and Polly Osborne of Eastpointe, Mich., and Greg is the son of Bill and Michele Bossert of Wausau, Wis., and Cassie and Steve Vistaunet of Boring, Ore.
The Bosserts are making their home in Fairfax, Va.

BAKEWELL, Ellsworth "Bud," age 83; born Oct. 6, 1921, in Redford, Mich.; died Feb. 19, 2005, in Garden City, Mich. He was a member of the Metropolitan Church, Plymouth, Mich.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy L. (Tear); son, Brian; daughters, Sharon Peters and Janice Brummett; sister, Carol Onuska; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted by Pastor Bob Stewart, and interment was in Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Novi, Mich.
COOK, Jean L. (Kipp), age 76; born Sept. 22, 1928, in Saginaw, Mich.; died Feb. 23, 2005, in Saginaw. She was a member of the Gladwin (Mich.) Church.
Survivors include her son, Randy; daughters, Laura Richman, Sheila Glover, Kay Douglas, and Pamela Foye; sister, Shirley Hauer; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted by Pastor Michael Wise, and interment was in Riverside Cemetery, Alma, Mich.
DANFORTH, Gloria L. (Martin), age 81; born Sept. 1, 1923, in Lyons, Mich.; died Feb. 2, 2005, in Edmore, Mich. She was a member of the Cedar Lake (Mich.) Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Susan L. Jones and Debra L. Eskildsen; brother, Philip C. Martin; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted by Pastor Mickey Mallory, with private inurnment.
EMMEL Jr., John D., age 51; born Feb. 21, 1953, in Battle Creek, Mich.; died Feb. 8, 2005, in Union City, Mich. He was a member of the Burlington (Mich.) Church.
Survivors include his son, Michael; daughters, Kristina Nichols and Katlyn Emmel; father, John Sr.; mother, Beverly (Little); brother, Rodney; sisters, Leslie Anne Cook and Joan Lancaster; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted by Pastor Rob Hughes, and interment was in Riverside Cemetery, Union City.
HAUGHLAND, Peter, age 86; born Jan. 5, 1918, in Kjolsdol, Norway; died Nov. 26, 2004, in Lansing, Mich. He was a member of the University Church, East Lansing, Mich.
Survivors include his wife, Anna May (Crawford); stepson, Jay Crawford; daughters, Shirley Reichardt, Audrey Scott, and Beverly Bell; stepdaughters, Roberta McElmery, Rae Petersen, and Eriann Hullquist; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and seven step-grandchildren.

JOHNSON, Robbie L., age 54; born July 29, 1950, in Hollandale, Miss.; died Jan. 26, 2005, in Indianapolis, Ind. She was a member of the Eastside Church, Indianapolis.
Survivors include her son, Marlon B.; daughters, Terri Baker and Sarah A. Nettles; brothers, Jesse J. and Columbus; sister, Willie M. Bryant; and five grandchildren.

NICKLESS, Betty C. (Wood), age 80; born Jan. 26, 1925, in Grand Rapids, Mich.; died Feb. 21, 2005, in Rockledge, Fla. She was a member of the Grand Rapids Central Church.
Survivors include her sons, Mike and Tim; daughter, Tamara Fletcher; and 16 grandchildren.

OXENDER, Frank V., age 84; born Feb. 14, 1920, in Shipshewana, Ind.; died Feb. 8, 2005, in Berrien Center, Mich. He was a member of the Buchanan (Mich.) Church.

PADEN, Cecil A., age 88; born Mar. 30, 1916, in Roatan, Honduras; died Dec. 30, 2004, in Pikeville, Tenn. He was a member of the Vincennes (Ind.) Church.

REID, Rebecca S. (Treadwell), age 54; born Sept. 4, 1950, in Battle Creek, Mich.; died Jan. 8, 2005, in Luther, Mich. She was a member of the Bristol (Mich.) Church.

SONKE, Erma J. (McCallum), age 68; born Oct. 10, 1936, in Grand Rapids, Mich.; died Feb. 23, 2005, in Wyoming, Mich. She was a member of the Wyoming Church.
