The Detroit Center church held a graduation ceremony on May 23 for 29 Bible instructors trained to lead Bible studies and support outreach efforts.
Steve Bramwell, Detroit Center pastor, led the training, which brought together lay members from churches across Detroit. Over several months, participants attended evening classes focused on Bible instruction and community outreach.
Lake Region Conference President Abraham F. Henry delivered the sermon during the ceremony and thanked Bramwell for organizing the program.
“What Pastor Bramwell has done here is a wonderful endeavor, and we thank God for his leadership,” Henry said.
He also called the graduates to use their training in service.
“We’ve got work to do together,” Henry said. “This is our season to rise to the occasion and serve God.”
Following the presentation of certificates, Bramwell recognized Katelyn Nieman, principal of Flint-Fairhaven School, for developing a Bible study guide the instructors can use in their ministry.
The graduates also recognized Bramwell and his wife, Shyenn, for their work in leading the training program.
