AdventHealth’s Board of Directors has elected Elden Ramirez to serve as board chair.
Ramirez is president of the Lake Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, a role he assumed in May 2025. He previously served as executive secretary of the Lake Union beginning in 2021.
“Elder Ramirez brings a pastor’s heart, broad leadership experience and a deep commitment to the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church,” said David Banks, president and CEO of AdventHealth. “His understanding of ministry, governance and service will be invaluable as we work together to advance our shared mission of Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ. We are grateful to welcome him as chair and look forward to his leadership.”
Before joining the Lake Union, Ramirez served as undersecretary of the North American Division and as president of the Montana Conference. His ministry has taken him across six states in roles that include academy chaplain, youth pastor, senior pastor, church planter and departmental director.
Ramirez’s experience also includes leadership in family life, youth and camp ministries, health and temperance, and the National Service Organization. He previously led the Office of Volunteer Ministries at the North American Division, supporting service opportunities that connected volunteers with the mission of the church.
“I am humbled by the opportunity to serve AdventHealth and its important ministry,” said Ramirez. “At the heart of this work is a sacred calling to extend the healing ministry of Christ by caring for people in some of life’s most vulnerable moments. Every day, AdventHealth team members live out that mission through compassionate, whole person care. I look forward to serving alongside my fellow Board members and AdventHealth leaders as together we remain faithful to that calling and seek to reflect the love of Christ in every community we serve.”
Ramirez and his wife, Jenny, have two daughters, Elennie and Jasmine. Together, the family shares an a cappella gospel music ministry.
The AdventHealth Board of Directors includes Seventh-day Adventist union officers, conference presidents and university presidents from across the AdventHealth footprint, along with appointed members from AdventHealth leadership and other healthcare industry and community organizations.
