Free Healthcare Weekend Changes Lives

Over a transformative three-day weekend, an unprecedented joint collaboration brought free healthcare to the Troy, Michigan community through the combined efforts of four major Seventh-day Adventist organizations.

Hello. I'm Carmelo Mercado from the Lake Union, and I'm here at the Troy Seventh-day Adventist Church in Troy, Michigan. We're having a wonderful time here, offering a very special service of medical, dental and vision care. We're offering this on behalf of the Seventh-day Adventist Church for the community, and it's a very interesting project that's a combination of both the Lake Union, the Michigan Conference and the Lake Region Conference coming together to offer these free services today. Friday, and then continuing on Sunday and on Sabbath, we're having a prayer rally the three days together is to bring us together in unity and love and share the love of God throughout the communities around here, and we pray the success of this will be the winning of souls for the Kingdom of God. - Carmelo Mercado, Lake Union general vice president

Today, here in Southfield, Michigan, at the Silver Garden building, we gather together to ask the Lord's blessings, and we recognize that prayer is the key. Christ method works. Christ loved being in the community. We are trying to emulate that, and by God's grace, we will see great results in the season of Pentecost. - Garth Gabriel, Lake Region Conference president

It's been a blessing for me being here, providing the service. Very nice people. There is a lot of people that cannot afford the dental, the other vision and medical assistance, so that's a blessing. And I thank them so much for that. Appreciate everything they have done today, and may God bleem them and strengthen them. - AMEN Clinic volunteer

My name is Nicole Braxton, and I'm a man's clinic director that stands for Adventist medical evangelism network, and we are grateful to be here serving at the Troy free clinic. It's a blessing to see so many different conferences and people from all walks of life, coming together, uniting for one common cause, to serve and give back, to be the light and change lives. Over the weekend, approximately 250 free medical, dental and vision care services have been given out to the community, and we're so grateful to see how God continues to bless the community after the event, with the follow up events and all the great activities that the church has planned. Overall, it's a blessing to see the Holy Spirit work in so many lives. So praise God for all things good, and it's a blessing to be here at the Troy free clinic.
