Hispanic evangelism series results in 50 baptisms

"It was Helen Keller who said: "Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much."

On June 12th, in alignment with our Illinois Conference 2021 Theme of “Proclaiming Jesus Passionately,” the Hispanic churches in the Illinois Conference gathered to dream about a new evangelistic series. The idea was to prepare the churches for small groups, empower volunteer bible workers, and launch community service teams to reach more people with one specific message: Jesus is coming again.

From September 25th to October 2nd, 24 Hispanic churches met for a week of evangelism. The title of this evangelistic effort was "Vitctoria frente al temor" (Victory over fear). In addition, 24 guest speakers from throughout the United States, joined us here in Illinois to preach powerful messages of hope and salvation. The Holy Spirit worked abundantly, and many were touched by the gospel presentations. At the conclusion of our week-long series, 50 people were baptized and another 150 people joined a small group or Bible study.

The exciting conclusion of our evangelistic series will be held from December 4th - 11th with our Caravan of Hope. The guest speaker for this crusade is Pr. Alejandro Bullón. Pr. Bullon, along with our team of pastors, will visit all the Hispanic pastoral districts in the Illinois Conference, harvesting the final decisions for Christ. Through God’s blessings, we anticipate 50 additional people preparing for baptism through this Caravan. The Spirit is moving, and God is leading the way. Alone we can do so little; with the power of God, we can do everything.
