CYE hosted the annual Children's Leadership Conference & Pathfinder Leadership Training this past weekend on the Andrews University campus. For the second time in its history, this Children’s Leadership Conference was offered for free to all registered attendees. This was made possible due to the sponsorship offered by the North American Division, the Lake Union Conference, and Center of Youth Evangelism. During this conference, attendees learned new techniques for children’s ministry and had the opportunity to earn certification through the North American Division. With over 200 registered attendees, this year’s Children’s Leadership Conference was one of the largest attended.
“The major goal of this conference was to equip leaders in the Lake Union and beyond. We wanted to give leaders new resources, inspire them with creative ways to minister to children, and to also rejuvenate them so that they can go back to their local churches and continue ministering to the children. Ultimately, we wanted to see a domino effect so that they may transfer what they have learned to the children. Keeping in mind the theme, we want the children to be trained to reach children,” shared Anastasia Ferguson-Bansie, the Children’s Leadership Conference director.
As an added element, this year’s children’s leadership conference also offered Pathfinder Leadership Training to prepare leaders for the upcoming Oshkosh in August of 2019.
