For the last 15 years, Neighbor to Neighbor, a ministry of Michigan Conference of Adventist Community Services has opened for business only on Tuesdays and Thursdays. But all that is about to change beginning next week when they add Wednesdays.

Wednesday, March 6, will be the last time everything in the store will be 50% off. Each subsequent Wednesday will feature items for sale by different departments.

Neighbor to Neighbor, located in Berrien Springs, offers different services to the public, too, such as financial counseling, cooking classes, health and wellness seminars. They are also open for Family Emergency Services (FES) providing assistance to needy families by providing shopping vouchers good for free clothing, food, dishes and toiletries on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Plans are underway for space expansion with the addition of 10,800 square feet, featuring a structure that will house the retail portion and re-configuring the current site to provide additional services for the community. Ground breaking is set for spring 2019.

Laura Meyer, director of Neighbor to Neighbor, said, “We expect to grow as we expand with our space, [and] the amount of clients we service [and] the amount of items we sell.”

With all that growth, volunteers are needed to serve as cashiers, sorters, receptionists, greeters, pantry staff and prayer leaders.

New hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
