On June 26, exactly one year from the opening of the General Conference Session (GC2020), Lake Region pastors conducted a prayer walk around the Indianapolis Convention Center and at the Lucas Oil Stadium.
The walk was led by Lake Region Adult Ministries director and Chicago pastor, Leon Bryant, who also streamed the walk on Facebook Live. The group consisting of several Lake Region pastors based in Indiana prayed for several things:
Joining, via technology to pray and offer support, were Kathy Griffin, project coordinator for Indiana Conference’s GC2020 evangelism outreach called Ignite Indiana; Ron Whitehead, Lake Union Youth director and director of Center for Youth Evangelism; Gary Blanchard, General Conference Youth director; Carmelo Monk, editor of Message magazine; and Colin Brathwaite, Alleghany East Adult ministries leader.
After the prayer walk, they gathered at the Veterans War Memorial to "Touch 10K" lives by sharing 100 sack meals and for an open-air prayer meeting. (see below for more on Touch 10K)
Please join them as they continue to pray for how best to “Impact Indiana.”

CLEAN UP AT TOWNSHIP HALL
Camp meeting is usually a time to come together for spiritual refreshing. During Lake Region’s camp meeting last week, a group of two dozen young people and eight adults went a step further and were intentional with connecting with the Cassopolis community. They cleaned tables and chairs, picked weeds, put down mulch, and cleaned gutters at the Calvin Township Hall in Michigan. They also went to homes in the community to trim hedges and cut grass.
This was part of the Touch 10K Challenge where the Lake Region Youth and Adult Ministries departments are making an effort to personally connect with their community and, by doing so, join with other regional conferences across North America to impact the lives of 10,000 people.
The Touch 10K Challenge is an evangelistic outreach modeled by Vandeon Griffin, North American Division’s associate director of Youth Ministries. Two years ago, regional conference administrations voted to support the model division-wide.
