Lake Union Reports Strong Camporee Numbers

Five thousand Pathfinders and club staff from the Lake Union territory are in the process of packing and getting ready to make their way toward Gillette, Wyoming.

Pathfinder ministry in our region has continued a meteoric rise with several conferences reporting record number of young people signing up for club ministry over the past several years. For instance, in a recent newsletter Indiana reports a surge of attendance at events connected to Pathfinders and Adventurers.

“At our Adventurer Family weekends, attendance has grown from approximately 300 to nearly 500 Adventurers and their families. Pathfinder camporee and fair weekend have grown from around 400 to nearly 600 in attendance. Pathfinder/Adventurer training weekends have grown to the point that Timber Ridge Camp no longer has room to accommodate our Pathfinder leaders. In 2019, we hosted 500 Pathfinders at the international camporee. As of July 28, we have 757 Pathfinders registered to attend the ‘Believe the Promise’ camporee in Gillette, Wyoming.”

Although the international camporee will not be held in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, the additional distance and costs to travel to Wyoming have not slowed participation from the Lake union conferences. In fact, this year’s international camporee shattered numbers from 2019, by adding 400 registrants.
