HINSDALE, Ill.—In addition to his role as CEO of AMITA Health Adventist Medical Center La Grange, a position he has held since 2017, Michael Murrill has been appointed CEO of AMITA Health Adventist Medical Center Hinsdale. In this expanded role, which was effective Monday, May 6, Murrill will focus on the integration of these two medical campuses.
Murrill has worked for the Adventist Health System for the past 17 years, having joined Adventist Midwest Health in 2008 as a finance manager at AMITA Health Adventist Medical Center La Grange, going on to be named chief financial officer at AMITA Health Adventist Medical Center Bolingbrook in 2011. In 2015, he was named chief operating officer over AMITA Health Adventist Medical Center Bolingbrook, AMITA Health Adventist Medical Center La Grange and AMITA Health Adventist Medical Center Hinsdale.
“Michael cares deeply about the mission, the organization and every person that is working toward the success of our system,” said Herbert Buchanan, AMITA Health senior vice president and south regional operating officer. “The integration of Hinsdale and La Grange has been progressing for several years, as we’ve worked toward becoming an integrated tertiary medical system serving the community. I am confident Michael’s many talents — building relationships, understanding complex financial needs and strategic development — can guide that vision to fruition.”
Murrill received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Mich., and earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Colorado. He is married to Melissa; they have two sons, Max and Mason.
