We regularly meet STR listeners in many places, both geographically and in their spiritual experience with the ministry’s broadcast. This trend will further increase as STR’s coverage area keeps expanding through God’s opening providence!
Strong Tower Radio’s broadcast impacts listeners continually as the Holy Spirit guides them into all truth. Here are a few testimonies of listeners we’ve met in the past year.
Val, who lives near Ludington, has been listening to STR for a few months, and her friends have noticed that she is much happier. Discarding TV because of its poor content, she turned to radio and discovered STR. Val first heard the uplifting music one morning, then a powerful sermon, then truth-filled children’s stories and loved it all. She especially likes the pastors’ Biblical messages, and Val’s enthusiasm has influenced several friends who now listen to STR! She recently requested and read through several books, including “The Great Controversy,” and described them as “wonderful.” “I love this station” she writes and adds her financial support.
My wife Jodi recently met a berry farmer near Muskegon who has listened to STR for several years. Just minutes before they met, he had been listening to an STR program on victory over addictions. He repeatedly shared how much he appreciates the messages that he hears on STR. Praise God!
Eric lives in central Michigan and listens to STR while driving a parcel delivery route. He has listened for several years and been convicted by what he’s heard. He has begun attending his local Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) church and is moving toward baptism. The Sabbath that I met Eric, he had scheduled a Bible study that afternoon to introduce some friends to the three angels’ messages!
An Adventist member and supporter, Vicki, recently shared an amazing experience. She’d had lunch with three non-Adventist friends and one, unable to drive due to a broken kneecap, planned to call an Uber to ride home. Vicki offered to take her home instead. As they drove away from the restaurant, Vicki turned the car radio volume down to zero so they could chat. A couple miles from the friend’s home, the volume went up on its own, and they heard a woman’s voice sweetly singing a beautiful song. “What station is that?” her friend asked. “That’s STR” said Vicki and told her the local frequency. The volume stayed up until Vicki returned home and parked her car. A few minutes later she thought “how did that volume go up like that? I turned it down to zero earlier?” She went back out to her car, started it, and looked at the radio: the volume was still at zero, and not a sound! Conclusion? Another timely angelic radio intervention. Praise God, let’s pray and keep praying for Vicki’s friend!
These testimonies exemplify the Holy Spirit working through the STR broadcast to draw people to Him. Since July 2024, 10 STR listeners have committed their lives to Jesus Christ and His everlasting gospel in baptism and have become part of their local Adventist church family. In STR’s 15 years of broadcasting, we know of over 100 listeners who have stepped forward in faith and become part of this Advent movement to prepare the world for Jesus Christ’s imminent return.
Radio continues to be a powerful evangelistic tool to reach people with the most important message ever given to humanity, the everlasting gospel in the context of the three angel’s messages. Prominent rating agency surveys keep proving that radio remains the top media format with over 200 million people listening weekly in the United States.
We’ve observed that STR listeners often listen 2-3 years before making a decision to accept the everlasting gospel and join the Seventh-day Adventist church. This intervening time calls for ongoing prayer and financial investment which bring incalculable rewards: souls embracing the whole gospel of Jesus Christ and being transformed into His likeness!
Strong Tower Radio is not part of any entity’s budget; it’s 100% listener/church member supported. Non-Adventist listener giving covers 4% of costs, while 96% of costs are funded by Seventh-day Adventist church members who view the broadcast as a potent extension of their evangelistic outreach, a ministry reaching people 24/7/365. Seventeen stations’ costs were covered by over 780 donors, of which 305 gave occasionally. Growing to 25 stations will increase annual costs $208,000 and increase broadcast signal reach by one million people. Stable monthly funding calls for 322 donors giving $50/month and with 25 stations, 669 donors at $50/month. Supremely economical, this averages $.015/person/month to reach 4.8 million people living within broadcast coverage of the everlasting gospel.
Strong Tower Radio began web streaming in June 2020, and you can hear the broadcast anywhere you have internet signal. We currently have listeners who tune in from over 100 countries, praise God! You may wonder “why be on the AM/FM dial when you’re broadcasting on line?” First, God keeps growing us there. Additionally, radio remains the top media format in the United States, with 2/3 of adults listening daily, and while radio dials have fewer than 300 signal options, the internet has millions of addresses. Be where over 200 million people listen and be easy to find: that’s the AM/FM dial!
