Two memorial services planned for Pastor Morales

Memorial services will be held both in Berrien Springs, Mich., and Oak Park, Illi.

The Lake Union is saddened by the loss of Pastor Justo Morales, who lost his life in a car accident on Monday, June 7. We shared the news of his passing last week and since then, details surrounding the accident have emerged from the police report.

Morales and his wife, Rosa, were traveling westbound on E. Shawnee Road around 8:30 p.m. on Monday, June 7, after visiting family in Berrien Springs, Mich., when a truck failed to stop at a stop sign on Garr Road and struck them.

Police believe that drugs were a factor in the crash and the driver of the truck was arrested and taken to the Berrien County Jail pending charges and arraignment. The accident remains under further investigation.

Rosa remains in stable condition and is being transferred to a hospital in the Chicago, area where she will undergo surgery and follow-up care.

There will be two memorial services honoring Pastor Morales:

  • Friday, June 25 at 6 p.m. (EST) at the Berrien Springs Village Church
  • Sunday, June 27 at 2 p.m. (CST) at the West Central SDA Church in Oak Park, Illinois
